Family take legal action

A family is taking legal action after they suffered the effects of a gastric illness while on holiday.

Lee Sim travelled with his wife and three daughters to Bourgas, which is the fourth largest city in Bulgaria and is situated in the south-eastern part of the country.

They claim to have spent their break ill in bed with vomiting and diarrhoea, the Manchester Evening News reports.

Mr Simm stated: "The holiday was £1,700 all-inclusive for the five of us. We had to borrow money to eat at restaurants.

He added: "First Choice reps said it would cost £50 for each of my children to see a doctor and that no other help was available. It ruined our holiday."

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the travel firm said it was concerned to hear of any illness reported in its properties and added that the hotel in question no longer features in its programme for 2009.
